Cingular phones?
A friend told me that Cingular announced on the news that they are going to cut off 5,000 of their phones. Is this true? How can I found out what areas are being cut off? If I’m going to be cut off, I want to be able to get a new plan before I go back to college.
I think your friend is scaring you a little – Cingular will stop using the TDMA technology in 2008. TDMA is an old technology, found in many phones in the 1990’s. So, if you are still using a phone from 1996, you might need to investigate this.
What I’m trying to say is… don’t worry about it at all. Cingular uses GSM which has been the standard for over a decade. You’ll be FINE.
